ACUPUNCTURE & MASSAGE

AFTERCARE
GUIDE

Support Your Healing,
Even After You Leave.

Congratulations on choosing to prioritize your self-care. Massage therapy and Chinese acupuncture are powerful tools for long-term wellness — but your treatment doesn’t end when you walk out our door. Thoughtful aftercare helps your body process, recover, and heal more deeply.

What to
Expect
After Your Treatment

  • Expect soreness, fatigue, or even emotional release as your body clears lactic acid, reduces inflammation, and rebalances. These effects usually subside within 24 hours.

  • Mild swelling, tenderness, bruising, or a spaced-out feeling is normal — especially if cupping or gua sha was used. These symptoms are temporary and part of your body’s healing rhythm.

  • This vacuum-based technique may leave temporary marks. You may feel light-headed or relaxed afterward. These sensations typically pass quickly, leaving you with deeper tension relief.

Aftercare Checklist….

💧 Hydrate

Drink plenty of water to help your body flush out toxins and support lymphatic flow.

💪 Support Your Body

Light movement or strengthening exercises (as appropriate) can help realign overworked muscles and maintain results.

🧘‍♀️ Reduce Stress

Incorporate calming practices like yoga, meditation, time in nature, or creative outlets to support emotional balance and healing.

🛏 Rest & Reflect

Make time to relax. Your body is recalibrating. Gentle rest allows the benefits to settle in more fully.

🧠 Tune In

Reflect on any patterns or stressors that may have contributed to your current imbalance. Consider how you can care for yourself moving forward.

Your practitioner may offer stretches or wellness tips, but these are suggestions — not medical prescriptions. Always follow your primary care provider’s advice first. If something doesn’t feel right, please contact us.
